Vedivan

In Mithilaa after the fourth day of marriage there is a tradition of re-marriage by erecting a Mandap. This tradition is called Chouthari. Only after the 'Chouthari' the rituals of marriage are considered to be complete. Here Vedi ie Mandap of ' Chouthari' was erected therefore, the name of this village is also Vedi-Van. The names of near-by villages also conform to this ritual.
