The Tungabhadra river takes a bow shaped curve at this place. It is called Chakrateerth. When Sh. Ram was going to Ayodhya by Pushpak Viman it landed here at the request of Maa Sita Ji. After that Sugriv constructed Kodand Ram Temple here.
