As per the folktale, the local citizens had given him the royal
welcome (Pattabhishek) when Shri Ram was on his way to
Ayodhya from Lanka. But it does not seem to be logical.
According to the opinion of scholars, Shri Ram had come to this
place during his expedition journey to Lanka. Hence, this place is
on the exile route.
