As per the ancient books, the earlier names of this place were Shonitpur, Shripur and Shivpur. At present it is known as Sirpur. The brick structures of 8th century still exist at this place. These are called as Ram Divala and Laxman Divala. Shri Ram had come here during his exile period.Â
